The Checker began as checklist books primarily used for equipment inspections—vehicles, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy commercial equipment.

We still produce the best printed checklist books available for inspecting commercial equipment, but The Checker has evolved:

  • In addition to books, we now also offer online checklists for use on mobile devices.
  • We now design customized checklists for the inspection or audit of many things other than commercial equipment. The Checker can be used for practically any type of asset, process, environmental condition (e.g., water quality, air quality, noise levels), chemical, etc.—anything that has a list of items to be checked.

Safety inspections and audits can be done on mobile devices using The Checker. An example of this evolution is The Checker’s customizable mobile checklists for safety inspections or audits of facilities. All the items you need to inspect or audit can be included in the same checklist, with item-specific detail. You carry your device around the facility, and The Checker makes it easy to know what to check and how to check it. You fill out the checklist on your device, and the results are automatically compiled and sent to the appropriate people.

Customization Makes Checklists Work

The customization The Checker provides sets it apart from the many generic checklists on the market. To be effective, checklists need to be tailored to the inspection or auditing process you use, which generic checklists aren’t.

The Checker can be customized in either print or electronic form. Just send us a list of items to be inspected or audited, and we can create a checklist specifically for your needs. We’re glad to consult with you to determine what items should be on the list, and in what order they should be listed.

The order is important because a key feature of The Checker is that items are listed in the logical order they’ll be checked, not in alphabetical order or some other way that makes it difficult to locate them on the checklist.

Organizations with diverse functions can benefit greatly from the design flexibility of The Checker.  Consider a municipal public works department: Rather than a hodgepodge of procedures and forms, The Checker’s consistent format can be used for inspections and audits in construction, public safety, trash collection, park maintenance—any function the department is responsible for. Yet each checklist will be specific to the asset being inspected or audited.

The Mobile Checker

The Checker’s mobile option adds another dimension of flexibility. It is a cloud service (SaaS) that consists of two parts:

  • An electronic checklist form customized for your business, which can be accessed on any mobile device connected to the internet.
  • Administration software that allows you to collect, save, and analyze inspection or audit data, as well as to track assets and personnel.

You can use any device—phone, tablet, laptop—to do your inspections or audits and then immediately submit the results into the cloud software, triggering a PDF of the inspection to be sent to designated recipients. The software can then be used to track the data that matters the most to your business.

The combination of customized checklists and flexible administrative tools allows you to coordinate an inspection or audit program in the way that best suits your company.

Takeaway Point

Using either printed checklists or online checklists on mobile devices, The Checker can be used to inspect or audit virtually anything.
